Balancing work & life

Benefits

Coaching leads to:
  • Enhanced self-awareness - creating new opportunities, new choices, new behaviours
  • Improved ability to set and maintain boundaries - resulting in better decisions, greater focus, better balance, less stress
  • Increased sense of purpose - leading to greater engagement, achievement of potential
  • Reawakening of a sense of excitement, passion and fun that comes from discovering the things listed above.

Coaching has also been shown to improve:
  • Rates of retention
  • Employee satisfaction
  • Customer service, and
  • Relations with peers, colleagues and direct reports.

Team Coaching
Approach

I work with teams to help them fine-tune their processes, and to increase their productivity. By paying attention to the basics we assess where the team is, relative to where it could be, and then endeavour to close the gap.

Structure
  • The work that we do is confidential - held within the team.
  • Some meetings are with the team as a whole, some with the individual members.
  • The process is complemented by appropriate use of assessments and tools.
  • The purpose and function of the team sets the direction of the work.

Individual Coaching
Approach

I partner with people who want to make positive change in their lives.

Together, we engage in the coaching relationship through a series of conversations that begin with you identifying your goals and perceived barriers to success.

We explore new ways of looking at problems and barriers. We challenge long-standing assumptions and beliefs that might be constraining you, or limiting your possibilities. As your perspectives change, you experience opportunities to assess new options or re-think existing options, which then allows you to create action plans and ways of holding yourself accountable for your progress and outcomes.

Underlying this is a process of self-discovery in which you clarify what is important to you:
  • Your values and how these underpin your ability to connect powerfully and positively to the activities and people in your life
  • Your life focus or purpose and how that is central to the choices that you make, and
  • The strengths that you bring to everything you do.

Structure
  • Coaching conversations are confidential, and are conducted either face-to-face, or over the telephone.
  • The process is complemented by appropriate use of assessment worksheets, tools and instruments.
  • I typically meet with clients 2 or 3 times per month, for 30 to 60 minutes. In addition, clients have access to unlimited e-mails between meetings.
  • Because people being coached are trying to make lasting behavioural change, the coaching arrangement is often 3 to 6 months or longer.
