MANAGE BETTER IN A PANDEMIC
Discover and master the rules and tools that create success in times of unprecedented change and beyond

In these uncertain times, organizations are dealing with massive change. This is affecting the whole organization and every individual within it. Inexperienced managers are not only trying to develop their skills as managers, figure out their role and grow into their new responsibilities, they are now also trying to deal with the stress of rapid change at a personal level and help others to do the same. All of this while trying to remain energized, motivated and productive, and help other to do the same.

This package contains 4 modules that are designed to help the newer manager understand themselves in the context of intense change and possible new and unfamiliar ways of working. The focus is on developing a full understanding of the role of the manager in the current context, how one fits into that role, how to communicate effectively regardless of the circumstances, and how to develop and support a team in either a face-to-face or virtual environment.

When your new manager attends “Manage Better”, they will benefit from my many years of coaching and working with other new managers. They will gain access to tools and a framework to help them improve their effectiveness and become more confident. You can provide the opportunity for your inexperienced manager to take advantage of these tools through an on-line course that requires their time on-line for less than 2 hours/week. This course is an investment in people and in the organization – an investment in effective management that will pay back many times over.

What we will cover:

Module 1: Develop a “manager mindset”; which includes developing self-awareness, and fully understanding the role of manager in the current context. Special attention is paid to the specific context of each participant with the unique challenges that creates.

Module 2: Focus on self-management, building personal resilience, and responses to change, managing time and energy and boundary setting. In this module the participants will explore their own personal triggers and challenges, and develop techniques to help them to manage those in the possible extremes of the current environment.

Module 3: Communication: what works, what doesn't, personal strengths and communication challenges, how to leverage the former and mitigate the latter. New and emerging challenges will be explored, and each participant will determine how to facilitate effective communication in the face of change and uncertainty.

Module 4: Develop and get the most from the team in both a face-to-face and virtual environments. Learn to manage and support others and help them in times of rapid change. Build a team, keep the team focused, informed and inspired even if the way they have to work together has changed or is changing to a virtual or remote environment.

During the course participants will:

  • Have a 1-on-1 coaching session with me to customize their experience, and allow them to apply the learning directly to the areas where it will benefit them the most
  • Learn new ways of showing up as a manager for the times
  • Identify ways to support everyone on their team regardless of the environment
  • Create a compendium of tools, resources and reflections to use in the future
  • Be involved with a learning partner who will help anchor accountability and enhance learning, sharing learnings and insights, ask questions and exchange ideas
